We know, we know, you're dying to help. But, the lovely woman you asked to marry you is running around at breakneck speed, treating this wedding like her job. What on earth can you do to help? Oh, there's lots. Here are some ideas we had.
Even though it seems, in a whirlwind of flowers and decorations and gowns, that there's nothing you can do to add to the planning of the wedding (without getting yelled at, that is), there is. In this modern-day world of equal opportunity, many couples are finding it easier (and a lot more fun) to share in the wedding planning responsibilities. Why don't the two of you sit down and decide some basic outlines of who will be responsible for what? And, remember: she's going to bite off way more than she can chew, and you're going to hear about it later during a crying fit/nervous breakdown. Volunteer to do more when she tells you she's got it covered. That's just our opinion.
By the way, you'll enjoy your own wedding so much more if you had a hand in what all's going on once you get there. We promise.
The Music
Are you interested in music? Why don't you volunteer to research bands or DJs for the reception? If you do the legwork of gathering all the info, the two of you can interview or review your music choices together to make the final decision.
Transportation
Now, we're not assuming here that ALL guys LOVE cars (that would be so sexist), but if you do like cars - you may want to be the one to pick out a great limousine or classic car for you and your honey to be escorted around in on the Big Day.
The Booze
Whether your caterer is handling the booze or you're on your own, your long lost love (beer) can help you here in choosing refreshing beverages for your guests. If you know exactly what you want to drink on your wedding day, then this would be a fun task.
The Honeymoon
This is a traditional groom's duty that's got to be the best job of the whole process - organizing and planning your glorious post-stress blowout vacation. Surely, you think this one's fun.
The Paperwork
Got a business head? Why not take charge of the paperwork? (Bet you're shaking in your seat, you're so excited.) Making sure contracts are signed, confirming vendors, keeping track of payments and receipts - very important tasks when you're planning a wedding.
Well, we think that's enough for now. If we think of anything else you can do, we'll let you know.
